The implementation of an accurate on-line Moisture Control System can offer significant benefits to processors involved in drying operations. Drying is often one ot the most energy intensive operations in a wide range of textile processes.

The purpose of the drying operation is to drive off the moisture within the fibre so that when the product (whether it be loose fibre, yarn or fabric) exits the dryer it is at the desired moisture content (or regain).

There are three major areas to consider tespect to cost justification for the implementation of a moisture control system.

The direct benefits from being able to boost the average moisture content of the fibre produced and also the benefit of monitoring the moisture content throughout the process.
The increased productivity (and/or lower production costs and capital costs) that can be obtained by controlling the moisture content to the desired level.
The quality benefits that can be pbtained by controlling the moisture content to the desired level.
